Mortagne sur Gironde

We got here on Tuesday afternoon. We've stayed at this aire a couple of times before, and although we have to pay, it's well worth it. Everyone else thinks so too to judge by the number of vans always here. There are memories here, too, of when we had our house in the Dordogne - this was a favourite 'port of call' on a day out to the coast.

This is the view through our front window. It's very quiet here, apart from the odd boat person, and the fairly huge campervan population - all baby boomers!

And this is the view at the back - water and electricity within easy reach.

Sorry, Jennie, Maurice took this photo - men are interested in this sort of thing!

This afternoon we managed another bike ride. I must say that I appreciate the flat roads around here.......

Back at the port...........They've got their priorities right around here. (Give way to ducks rather than cars)

Love the way hollyhocks grow in the streets along this stretch of coast.

On our way again tomorrow - steadily working our way back north now.
