A lovely drive up into the hills and found these flowers when we had a coffee stop. A scenic drive today through the volcanic region of the Cantal. Spectacular....and no traffic. Found a free aire in a village in the middle of nowhere, but not far from the motorway. A very hot evening. Just concentrated on surviving!

Thursday started well with a stop at a motorway service station. I can't usually stand the places! This one had a vast picnic area with reconstructed dwellings in the traditional local styles. A mini trail meandered through, and there was a magnificent view of a hill village.
The highlight of the day was going over the Millau viaduct. The weather at this altitude is unpredictable, and there was low-lying cloud/mist, which made for some atmospheric photos.

Later in the day we revisited Pezenas (Last here in 1981!), a medieval town, which was even more attractive this time round. Narrow shady streets - by now it was extremely hot again as we were almost at the south coast.

Very stylish boutique type shops were an added bonus, and I loved this sweet shop, called (translated) 'Sweet Therapy'

That night we slept on the towpath next to the Canal du Midi at Beziers. Plenty of shade!
Now we are by the Med.......more tomorrow.
Great Blog, Great Couple, Excellent Journey... Saludos from Mexico. Vinicio
